hello as the title says i just took possession of a AG-42B but it didnt have the mag with it. im wondering if there is anywhere in Canada to get these? or are they unobtainable? or if you have one pm me. thanks

Occasionally there is a magazine offered for sale in the EE. They go quickly and the last one I seen was $100.

Try posting a WTB in the EE for one. You might get lucky.

AG-42B must ALWAYS be loaded from the Magazine.

Putting a round into the Chamber and allowing the Bolt to close will bend the rim right off the casing, jam the rifle and, quit possibly, wreck that rather rare extractor.

ALWAYS LOAD FROM THE MAGAZINE.

what if in the safe position with the bolt captured if u load one round, then close the bolt with it still captured in the dust cover then let the dust cover back into the firing position the bolt wouldn't slam it would just closed like a bolt action?

I can see someone showing up at Emerg, with flat fingers about now. :)

I've read that the Hakim and AG42 mags can be interchangable with some work. Don't know first hand. If so, Numrich sells them. I had a couple of Hakim mags delivered just this week.

I've changed them around in mine, they fit, but you've got to wonder about the feed ribs. ;)

Analyse what goes on in the action of the rifle.

The Extractor has to get up OVER that cartridge rim.

The Magazine is designed to let the cartridge slip up UNDER the Extractor so that the Extractor does not have to ride up and over that rim.

Don't try to out-guess the guys who designed the thing. They will WIN, every time.

Only way trying to slip a round in without a Mag possibly could work is if the Cartridge were hanging out of the Chamber, with the rear end of the casing tilted BELOW the level of the Bolt.

That MIGHT allow the round to come up under the Extractor.

You would have to do it SLOWLY and THEN hit the top-cover disconnect and let the top cover come back on its springs.

I wouldn't even bother trying it: too much chance of messing up.

Get a Magazine, friend.

i never thought about the extractor, thank you very much i appreciate you saving my figures and rifle. the hunt will begin tomorrow as everyone who sells gun parts apparently takes sat and Sunday off, you guys who have ordered hakim mags where did u get theM?
