AG42b Gas tube, not stainless

Hello all, I've got an AG42b without a stainless gas tube (for lack of a better term), is it still safe to shoot? It looks as if it has been removed (or installed) at some point due to some tool marks which don't look professionally done. It shoots great, bubba has added an adjustable gas system, (8-32 set screw and locking nut)

You may have one that wasn't up graded to the B version, does it have the rubber bumper on the right side?? Is it safe to shoot, have a gunsmith check it out. A stainless tube could be made for it but if the tube on it is in good shape there is no need to change it. Bill

It has been upgraded, rubber bumper and electro-penciled. I've noticed that Numrich has these tubes in stock. An easy fix?
