Just when I'm getting set up to sell off a few rifles , a couple more jump into my lap.
One is a '43 AG42B . I'm not exactly AG42 savy .
The top handguard has round ventilation holes .I don't recall seeing this before and I'm sure my bro's AG42 handguard is solid. Are these correct ?

At least Bubba did it reasonably well this time...lol .
I like it and for $150 ...what the heck.
Beech stocks are in VG condition , metal is also. Stock disc is pinged 2 for barrel condition and looks pretty good to me.
What I "need" is a sling ( no prob there)

Is my memory failing me, or did some of the AG42b's have a serrated rear sight elevation knob? Just a reminder that if you didn't know, you can pull that wire clip out from the elevation knob, and switch the elevation markings for the two different bullets that were available to the military.

Anybody know where I can find a cleaning rod ?

Stock has been refinished too.

The stocks are varnished or some kind of hard coat.
That'll come off easy enough , I prefer oil finish anyhoo.
Looks like I got a mean lookin' coyote / deer rifle ...lmao
Still want a cleaning rod tho....

You could probably use one from a Swedish Mauser bolt action. If I recall, they were very similar. Never actually used it as a cleaning rod though.

When Xerxes asked King Leonidas or Sparta to lay down his Arms at Thermopylae, despite having only 300 of Spartas' most elite warriors compared to many times that number in the Persian Army (modern estimates peg the Persians in the 200,000 soldier range), Leonidas responded, in greek, "Molon Labe" which means "come and get them". They subsequently fought to the death and delayed the Persian advance long enough to totally demoralize the Persian army.

The fierce resistance of the Spartan-led army offered Athens the invaluable time to prepare for a decisive naval battle that would come to determine the outcome of the war. The subsequent Greek victory at the Battle of Salamis left much of the Persian Empire's navy destroyed and Xerxes was forced to retreat back to Asia, leaving his army in Greece under Mardonius, who was to meet the Greeks in battle one last time. The Spartans assembled at full strength and led a pan-Greek army that defeated the Persians decisively at the Battle of Plataea, ending the Greco-Persian War and with it the expansion of the Persian Empire into Europe.

In modern use, it has been a rallying cry for gun owners opposed to excessive gun control. Kinda like "from my cold dead hands".
