Age of a marlin rifle

I have a marlin 30as and was wodering when it was made. the serial numbers first 5 digits are 10028, it has a microgroove barrel.Anyone know the approximate age.

correct. With rifles made before the year 2000 you subtract the first two digets of the SN from 2000 to get year of manufacure. (Unless there's a letter up front, then its a fairly old one and you need to consult a chart.)
