Aguila L.R. Subsonic Solid Point | Lead

Chronographed the Standard Velocity stuff this morning

Ruger 10/22 with 16.5" Tac-Sol barrel gave 1072 fps average
Schultz & Larsen with 26.75" barrel gave 1066 fps average

Not as much difference as I expected

Back in the day (70s and 80s) Can Tire sold Aguila 22lr ammo in yellow boxes. It was supposed to be hi vel but was closer to std vel. Do not recall offhand now the chrony results. It came in solid point and hollow point.

It was cheap, but then all 22 ammo was cheap back then, but it was even cheaper than CIL. The darn stuff shot great out of everything I owned at the time and never had a misfire either.

I just picked up a box of the Aguila subsonic and std vel last week at he local Can Tire. Holy crap I could not believe the price at $7 per box!!!! Will see how it performs. I have a book that tests various 22 handguns with various ammo and the Aguila subsonic rates the top choice in a number of the guns tested.

I've shot a fair amount of the HV and standard at they fail to fire appreciably more than CCI standard the HV shot around the speed of Minimags as I recall and the standard closer to CCI standard.. they are not bad for accuracy out of our Buckmark and 10/22

I've been shooting the standard velocity out of my NS522 for some time, it's my middle ground ammo if I'm not shooting the pricey stuff or bulk. Out of a bunch of ammo I tested in my rifle it had the second best group average, Eley Match was first but only by .02". 13$ price difference per box and the group difference is negligible. Shoots better than cci standard and other ammo in its price range.

Every rifle likes different ammo. Works in my gun but.... you wouldn't like it ;)

reliable gun has em for 6.49 I think... or 539.99 for 5000 or 56.99 per 500. I got a bunch of the HV stuff with the rifle I bought, haven't had it out with a scope yet but at 25m w/ RDS I had blown out the bullseye with 10 rounds.

I also bought some SK standard plus, as its made by same company that makes Wolf match but owned by Nammo Group (Lapua). Its 64.50 from nordicmarksmen, I had to get some more VFG pellets and an AR-15 bore guide anyways, shipping was only 5$ more with ammo.

I've heard damn good things about these rounds, Lapua even said if you need good practice match ammo SK is way to go. Obviously not as good as lapua center x, but at half price can't complain.

My bl 22 loves the aquilla subsonics so I picked up a couple bricks . When I played around with diff ammo to see what she likes the aq, subs were the best. Took the heads off a few grouse this fall with this combo.
