Aguila Mini Shells

Yeah they would be great. That's what I was always scared of with grandson.he always wanted to shoot shotgun but I was worried about it hoofing it too hard and him developing a flinch. Remember back in the day about 8 years old shooting dad's 30-30 for the first time and getting the hammer in the nose. Not a whole lot of compassion lol. Still have the crook in my nose to remember that childhood memory. These would be a good alternative.

I use them in my light sxs guns for bunny hunting. They work great. I have been trying to find the pressure these produce. I don't think they're safe for old vintage damascus guns. I'd love to be proven wrong on that though

I ran a box of these through my sporting clays gun (Caesar Guerini Magnus) and was quit surprised how much unburnt powder was left in my barrels. Got a nice foot long flame out the end of one, which caused me to stop and check the other. No harm done just a mess.

perhaps I got a bad batch?

I would love to try some of these. Would be perfect low recoil rounds for kids.

I haven't tried my box of shot of those yet.
However if you are looking for low recoil shells, track down some Sellier & Bellot rubber ball stuff (they have rubber buckshot as well but I haven't tried it).
Not cheap (~$30 at my LGS), but they are fun! Full report, practically zero recoil. I usually have a couple with me when introducing new shooters to shotguns.

I have shot a 20 box the 7.5 shot. They are cute, that is for sure.
My kids like them. I like them for small game hunting with my 12g

They cost a lot for what they are though.

I use them in a old light weight merkel sxs.

They are full pressure loads. Do not think they are mild
pressure, from their site.

"All Types of MINISHELLS are loaded to SAAMI specs according to 12ga shotshells of regular size, namely 2-3/4" or 3" in length. This means that regular shells and MINISHELLS generate the same pressure in the chamber of 12ga shotguns. MINISHELLS should NEVER be used in signal/flare guns or any other firearm other than 12ga caliber SAAMI approved shotguns. Failure to comply with this may result in injury or death to the user or others."

A bit pricey, but I always have a box of them with me at Sporting Clays. A good way to end "magnumitis" discussions. They break targets as well as anything when you do your bit.
