Well, here it is. I have been wanting to build one of these for a while. I finally got around to building the barrel a few months ago. After some trial and error at the range I finally tuned it to work with both sub-sonic hand loads and factory Remington 220gr sub-sonic. The 8" barrel now functions flawlessly under all conditions and I love it.

No accuracy tests yet since we were focused on flawless function before we did anything else. Much more fun to come with this rifle for sure!!

Here is a list of the components:

Lower
-PSA Lower (One Shot Tactical)
-DPMS LPK (Epps)
-Magpul CTR (China version since I had it laying around)
-Magpul MOE grip (One Shot Tactical)
-QD sling swivel (One Shot Tactical)

Upper
-Generic Cerro Forge that I had laying around
-KAC URXII (One Shot Tactical) Installed with out new KAC URX wrench that we are producing and will have for sale next week at $70 (shameless AGW plug)
-Magpul AFG (One Shot Tactical)
-Barrel machined to 8" in our shop with Brownells barrel extension (Blank Sourced from Bits of Pieces) Hopefully these will be in production by late this year
-Prototype Linear Comp that we built and are in the process of testing (excuse the crappy krylon paint, just didn't want it to rust)
-Allen Gun Works low profile gas block fits under the rail. (Adjustable version coming to allow firing of sub and supersonic without over-gassing.

Ammo
-hand loads were Hornady 209gr over Lil' Gun (SFRC)
-factory ammo purchased from Simon (S&J Hardware)

Not installed yet
-CADEX QD Sling Point and BFG Sling (One Shot Tactical)

All together parts were either our own manufacture of sourced from board sponsors (6 in total including ourselves!!)

Oh damn, that's inefficient combustion. Load is too light for you're barrel.

Nothing you can really do about that tho, other then get into reloading, or get a longer barrel.


Man, in Canada, since we can't use suppressors. I don't get the point of having a 300 blackout rifle as I would think that the normal 223 would be grossly superior for target shooting purposes. But, I doubt that would stop me from getting one myself, just to say. :p

I could see myself reloading using some 110g CMJ bullets to shoot is on the cheap.
 
Ive shot this gun alot with AGW, its ###y.
As for why have a 300 blk out if you cant own a Can?
Simply this, .556 platform with 115tro 215gr bullet.
Major smack down power at close to mid range, on a 556 platform.
No feading issue, no stupid mags, no thin bolt heads, it plug and play.

Actually, the load is based on keeping it subsonic and creating enough gases to cycle the action on such a short barrel. There has to be sacrifices somewhere. But I don't mind. The load is just right.

A longer barrel would defeat the purpose. Trying to keep it "PDW" length. Anything longer than 9" would be a waste since most of these loads burn all of the powder in the first 9" anyway.

Our design is very close to that one. No press button detent though. Pretty sure after a few rounds down range you don't want to be putting your fingers anywhere near the gas block.

Ours will work on the exact same principle.

Yeah that makes sense.

If I recall correctly, doesn't a "can" also add extra back pressure and virtually increase your loads pressure?

Would I be correct in assuming, if implemented as designed with the use of a suppressor, that would probably make the combustion cleaner and more efficient ?
