I spent the whole afternoon shooting gophers northwest of Mankota. There sure aren't as many as the last two years, but with warning shots included, I must have shot off around three hundred rounds. I usually stationed myself at a fence post and waited for the little buggers to pop up. I use a Ruger stainless 10/22, wood stock, no alterations. I have a Bushnell 3-9 Trophy on it. I popped a good number at 50-125 yds. I have two Eagle 30 rounders, and was using WW 1280 fps hollow points. No malfunctions, other than when a .22 shotshell got chambered and fired. It didn't extract. I had used up a few oddball shells, and that one was by mistake.
