came across these old tags and scanned them for your enjoyment.......all are from the old Trail Firearms or Phoenix Range, back when Bob P. owned Phoenix as well as Trail Firearms....these tags are about 10-12 years old....the M70 300 Wtby was actually a WinLite model with McMillan stock, believe it or not...the Pre'64 M70 300 Winny was a one year deal in '63.....and can you imagine a Sako L61R 270 for $425?...

Hah, thats cool! Like a window back in time. I loved going to Trail on Saturday mornings. My favorite purchases are all from that store. Not necessarily the guns themselves but the whole atmosphere with the rows of gunracks, coffee maker and the folks in there shooting the breeze.

sigh ............

More than the prices, I miss the old days when you could buy and sell w/o registration. There seemed to be alot more guns floating around out there on a local level. :(

.

Would have been better to put all of our money in guns and forget about the stock market.....could have doubled in most cases.

: )

Well, they generally don't do well in countries where the government seizes private property on a whim, like Canada. Gun values stateside have done pretty well though. Here I would be surprised if they have kept up with inflation, thanks to the Libs and Neo-Libs (the original PCs). - dan

Amazing what a guy finds when the wife finally wigs out and makes ya clean up the gunroom....been there....

I've known where these were all along...and my wife has more respect for me and my hobbies than to tell me what to do in my den..(gun room)

you must have been in Trail a few times yourself?...you aint that far away from the big city..

I can't believe this thread! I just found some old receipts the other night and thought I would post them. They are also between 10 and 12 years old, but I didn't get nearly as good a deal as these!

Thanks for the post.

The saddest day in my shooting career was at Trail Firearms when I just couldn't come up with the money to buy a lovely 1886 Winchester in .40-82, still my dream levergun. Price in 1993 in really good shape: $700.00. Now I'm bummed out all over again. Dang.

I remember seeing a couple '86's in 40-82 at Trail...lusted after one myself....
