Just came across this on the S&W Forum.

From the Ahrends website:

"We will not be taking any new orders after 02/22/2020.

Many of you know that a few years back Miss Judy lost a 10 year battle with cancer. I guess the business got neglected to some extent during that time. The medical bills and business debt gave me little choice but to take bankruptcy.

It appeared for a time that it could be worked so I could keep the business going but thats not going to happen. Im looking forward to the future.

It has been a real joy for Judy and me to meet so many great people. I thank you for all the business you have given us. There are so many good memories. Judy handled the phone and made so many lasting friendships.

The bank tied up the programs and even my name. It appears they are going to continue the grip line. There wont be any one named Ahrends associated with these grips and we only hope they can continue the quality we offered."

Cheers, Kim

Very sad indeed. I have a pair of Ahrends for my 625-8 and they are excellent.

Got Ahrends grips on a S&W snub M66 and 4" M66. Love 'em!

I'm dealing with a return bout with the "Big C" after 10 years in remission. I've undergone several MRIs, a PET scan and am enrolled in a trial program at the moment that involved a new procedure only done in three places across the country. I was only the third patient to undergo the procedure in Kelowna recently.

America is a great nation in most respects, but when it comes to medical care, it sucks. If I had to pay for the treatments and consultations I've had with three oncologists and other highly skilled medical people, I'd be bankrupt.

Thanks! With timely treatment, I beat it once before and I'll beat it again. It's a disease, not a death sentence. I know several people dealing with health issues I wouldn't want to have.

In all seriousness .... guys, if you don't know your PSA numbers and have avoided getting the 'finger', GET OVER IT! It saves lives. The numbers vary depending upon the source, but they range from 1/4 to 1/9 for prostate cancer. Fortunately, most men will die WITH it as opposed to FROM it.

We have some of the best cancer people in the world here in Canada and treatment will not put you in the poor house.

You and Caramel, by the sound of it. And yes, I've "had the finger." Wasn't all that bad. Much better than the monthly injections in my eyes for wet AMD

While I've not bought any in a few years I had probably a half-dozen or more revolvers with them. They were much more comfortable than the S&W factory grips, and still had the classic wood grip look. That's really such a sad story Kim Ahrends, losing both his wife and business (and even the right to use his name).
