Hello Gents..

Someone asked to see these so here they are. 2 of only 32 B2's that were originally imported into Canada. For some reason the bottom B2 is a good three quarters of an inch longer overall than the top B2.

Just enjoy please. It doesn't matter what I paid for them and they're not for sale just yet.

Thanks.
Jim.

I had the same B2 on 2 different occasions.

I just couldn't get enthused about it.

When you look at the price and realize you can buy a 7.62 LB DCRA rifle for about the same...

Long Branch trumps AIA, despite how good they are...IMHO.

I did like the parkerized No4MkIV AIA better than the blued one.

They look nice but if one rifle is 3/4" longer than the other their quality control can't be up to much. Millions of Lee Enfields were made in war time conditions and they're all the same length.

Actually no they are not, they came with Bantam, small, regular and long butt stocks so they are all a different length too across those different stocks. Also some stock makers butt stocks are made of a different length within those same sizes too.

I have a DCRA and a No4MkIV, and both are staying here :)

For me, the fact that a few folks in Australia decided to produce modern versions of that old design is cool enough to make that rifle a keeper.

Here's mine. The one on the left. Gone, but to a good home.

Opps...that's an M10. Sorry.

It is mainly a problem with the lacquered cases and the tight chamber on the AIA guns. If the chambers were more loose and slightly oversize like military ones on military rifles it would not be such a issue.

lanshoka, have you determined where the difference in length is? Butt-stock? Barrel?

I just measured both B2's with a tape measure. The only difference is in the length of the stock (slightly over .5 of an inch longer on the one) and not the .75 of an inch I thought at first.

A word of advice to newer collectors.. don't store your Enfield or AIA rifles in the heavy canvas carrying bags for extended periods. They will rust and the brass butt plates will turn dark with spots of green corrosion. Especially if they are kept in a room near an air vent.
