OK, here's the pictures of the cheek rest that I had made.

I had it made at George's Harness & Saddlery in Ryley, AB. I has a nice rise from the really low comb of the butt stock. It should prove adequate for an optic, if I choose to go that route. The leather has a nice color to almost match the teak stock. And as is the case with the sling, it will darken over time.

And here's a close-up of the handi-work.

put some oil on that leather, once it goes hard it's toast, and cracks. oil it and it will last decades. don't forget the sling. beautiful teak stock, very rarely seen. she found the right caretaker for the next generation. congrats! and enjoy.
 
The 2 position flip sight the AIA's come with is okay but I was never partial to them, on the Enfield or the AIA. They were an expedient.

Since the pattern is Enfield, any Enfield No 4 sight will fit, except the Mk I, with the little adjusting wheel on top. The wheel will hit the receiver, which is not cut out for it.

So I put a Long Branch Mk III stamped sight on the one I had a few years ago. Quite a bit more adjustment with these.
