AIA mags?

At $250 a mag... OUCH!
With this kind of price, I am REALLY surprised that some dealer has not gotten on this & brought them in from Australia... With all the M14 rifles here, it's a pot of gold for anyone importing & selling them!

Orders were placed years ago, then the us gun manufactures lobbied the US gov to ban imports from china and vietnam, etc. AIA almost went bankrupt because of it ( so the roumor goes). They closed and reopened after getting reoganized. Now they deal with thire local market only, prices are higher too.
I heard a bunch of US dealers received rifles and never paid for them but that's nothing I have the "facts" on.
Numerous businesses have tried to get the ball rolling on importing these mags into canada. If Marstar or Canam doesn't have em yet.... I doubt we'll ever see them.
Several years ago... 2009, I think, I was out shooting with Gothmog and Chris(canam). Chris brought along several AIA mag samples, from AIA. 10 round and 20 round bolt action mags.
So, the effort to get these by our "big name" importers has still yielded nadda at the canadian retail end.
In an email between myself and Johnone of marstar, earlier this year I think. John said marstar was expecting AIA mags in the not so far off future.
Still nadda
Point being, BOTH the businesses I've mentioned here are for lack of a better word, Power Players, in the firearms import business.... And neither one has been successful at stocking their inventory with these highly sought after mags.
I ain't holding my breath on this one anymore LOL

At that price, it makes Beowulf mag price gouging seem almost reasonable!

And, 'if' $250 is the going rate for the AIA mag... Then I got a HELL OF A DEAL on my AIA when I bought it for $500... It CAME WITH the two factory mags AS IT SHOULD... So, by this rationelle, I got my AIA rifle FOR FREE!!! NICE!!!

I bought a few back in april and paid 100 each. That was 427.50 to my door for 4 mags. In hindsight, while they are nice mags.... If I'm gonna spend that kinda cash for 4 mags in the future, they better be the 20 round AIA mags 
Sadly, as many of us do, I long for the days when I could legally slap a 75 round drum on my sks or a 20 round GI mag into my TRW m14.....
A 10 round mag.... At any price, just does not bring back that feeling of the good ol days

Simply testing the market. I had a few for sale a couple of months ago which I sold strictly to AIA owners at a discounted rate. I sold a number to someone else who turned a fair profit on them, and thought I would try the same.
They will sell for what they sell for. I started high. Prices will drop until they start moving.
They are currently regrouping, and have come up with some great new, and innovative very high quality rifle designs that practically leap into your shoulder as if guided by wires. Very nice rifles!
Yes, due in part to the climb of the Aus $ the prices have gone up considerably. Their rifles were a bargain in hindsight though.
Funny, the member I sold the lot to didn't seem to have a problem getting rid of them. He started at $275.
Guess we'll see.

All the current M1A/M14 mag makers gotta do is make the same mag but not make the spring guide cutout on the front. Skip that step, it's a AIA mag china should be an easy source for such a mag.
I guess in the end, one has to float that boat past CBSA and RCMP and my guess is that this is where the "real" hurdles are in getting retail numbers of these mags in.

Actually Thomas, that isn't entirely correct.
There are other differences that distinguish AIA mags from M14.
The locking tab has a slight angle on the bottom,
They are also devoid of all markings.
Anything else will be rejected by the RCMP as not being AIA.
There have been at least three attempts to manufacture these mags, and all have failed.
The 'Riffle' mags being most notorious. Someone actually tried to bring in a bunch with a simple sticker that said AIA on it, covering the original M14 markings. Denied.
