Expensive one made by AI...the other is not...as I only use AI mags I can't comment on the quality of the aftermarket ones (but I suspect they're fine).

Other than that, I don't think there's any real difference.

For some reason MDT has $10 cheaper 5 round .308 magazines though.

I have both. The AI has better finish and is a bit nicer. Well worth the extra 10$

Hmm.. I know the 10 round .223 mags they sell are AI. I actually didn't know the .308 metal ones WEREN'T AI.

If you post in their forum, they'll answer who makes them. Better to hear it from the source.
