AICS stock modified for savage actions?

Matt-dal123

Put a Remington into in and forget the Savage :)

You know you want to:-

Haha honestly man its getting to the point where I might just give up and do so. I love the stock. But Remington has gone down hill with quality (IMO) and I just want to try stick to what I know works. That being said if I can find a .223 Remington action and barrel that works for me then who knows.

So what happened? Pay off from Remington? It makes no sense. I would have bought one in a heartbeat. I remember ATRS or someone made a Savage compatible version years ago. Should have bought one before AI intervened.

I've messaged Accuracy international on their facebook page and the response I got was that they have basically scrapped this all together (I can find the quote later, but basically it's not on the bottom of their list, it's no longer even on their list). Not the answer I was looking for.

I think something is up there. its so weird why they wouldnt continue. people would flock to buy them and they know it. makes no sense to me

At some point there was a thread on wolverines forum section that there was some kind of legal issue with a gun smith that was modifying the stock AICS to fit savages, but I don't know who the smith was, and I don't know whatever happened with the case. It's kind of a kick in the pants in my opinion to advertise a product and then pull it from the market when there is really nothing wrong with it AFAIK. To be honest though, I have given up for now and will be buying a KRG alpha 180 when I can save some cash. Also I blame remington, they tricked the precision rifle community into pretty much supporting their product exclusively copying, the actions, making exclusive mods etc. and now after the all of the trigger issues, I wouldn't touch the things with a 10 foot pole. I mean not really remingtons fault just funny how everything is made for rammingtons and now there is so many issues with the trigger alone and so much gun smithing required to get one to shoot half as good as a savage out of the box. Sorry I'll stop my rant there. Anyways, as I said, ill be saving up for a KRG and saying goodbye to owning a savage in an AICS, maybe someday I will build on a custom action something that can go in an AICS like a surgeon action or something.

I sent an email to AI last week inquiring about the AICS for the Tikka T3 and their answer was it's only a proto and to look at the AICS Rem options. lol

Too bad that Roedale customer service suck. They are not reachable period, even if you tell them "Take my money!!"

Hey all, listen after the 31st minute:

ht tp://precisionriflepodcast.com/prp-075-accuracy-international-interview/

Am I insane or is he saying that they are working on updating the chassis for Savage and Tikka for the end of this year? I think they told me what they did because well, who am I, just a customer and they probably wouldn't want to let any secrets out. Anyways lol, have a listen after the 31st minute and see what you think.

Listening to it, he is talking in the past tense. At 00:31:25 he says "We have made some limited runs ... " of the Savage, and then at 00:31:32 he says that they "... did a very small run ..." of the Tikka T3 version. Both of those statements indicate that what they are referencing was in the past.

At 00:32:10, however, he says "... You could look for for us to bring out the updated version of those chassis later this year." (He didn't indicate if it would be for the Canadian market or not.)

meh ill believe it when i see it...

on Spartan precision's (located in Calgary) website they show their SPCS rifle as using a savage action in an aics chassis.. I assume they make the chassis themselves and then use aics skins.

Listened to it, I personally think you are reading too far into it. But maybe if you listen to his statement backwards, it will reveal a top secret ultimate AI chassis being developed for the Savage......

I'll just throw this out as it has been mentioned earlier.

I purchased an HS3 and while assembling it to the PRS stock, I had my Rem700 in the AICS stock sitting on my bench. If you have the Viper skins or similar AICS skins on it, they are very near identical. I thought to myself that it is going to be comical when my 308 comes back from the 'smith that I will have to check closer when pulling one out of the safe to take to the range! Hate to be standing on the line with mismatched ammo and rifle!

Truthfully I think one of the reasons MDT isn't being sued for copying the AICS is that the butt stock and grip are not supplied when purchasing the chassis.

Also I held one over the weekend and no spigot mount ;) But yeah I was considering... Am considering getting an HS3, as it does look like a pretty sweet setup.
