Thanks to you my fellow CGNer ... this thing is sweet ... I hit targets out to 500 yards the other day ... doing some re-loading with "catworks" on the board hopefully soon and shoot out further ... and soon to paint her in a TW Cadpat green camo pattern like SKULLBOY's. Thanks again,

The only aluminum bedding blocks that I ever saw that truly fit to thier respective receivers were machined that way. That is, the receiver was trued, then the blocks were machined to match, then they were installed in the stock. Other then that it's a crap shoot, and as Jerry says, just screwing the two components together harder is not the answer. In my opinion, barring a lot of custom machining, bedding is a requirement to achieve the accuracy potential of pretty much any rifle with accuracy intentions. - dan
Curious if I can do the trigger work myself on my Remington 700 .308 as I want a lighter trigger pull ... somebody mentioned that it is about 8 or 9 pounds stock ... how can I adjust my trigger myself or should I send to a gunsmith? Link to self instructions? Comments? I tried a .308 rifle with 4 pounds pull and really liked it as I could touch the trigger without setting it off ... please help?

By the way, it is a fairly simple thing to do and works quite well. I am in the same boat as you (being in the North with no gunsmith's around) and gave this a shot. So far so good, and I am happy with the results.
If you totally screw it up, you can always send the trigger to a good smith or just buy an aftermarket one. Although I doubt you will have any trouble with this adjustment.
