AICS stocks ...

That Hurt man, Next Thread on you Barrel will be a Modify Acme 8stub. Good luck making it fit...

I'm not anti bed so don't take as such. I know that the actions are all different and there are points where it touches and not. If I have a firearm that's not bedded and it shoots 1/2" MOA or better, and I've have a alot of them over the years then why would I bed? If I have consistancy problems I will bed. Anyone to say bedding is 100% needed, I still don't know why they would say that. I always recommend that everyone shoots before bedding and see if they need it. You'd be surprised at the amount of people that end up not bedding. I've actually had someone come back and tell me that it shot better when the put it into an A-5 without bedding than in the previous bedded stock. We all need to have an open mind and there are no absolutes in anything. Well maybe somethings but bedding isn't one of them and anyone who says it is has a closed mind. Same goes for pillars but I won't go there. I don't know everything and I'm not always correct but I can share my experiences that speak for themselves.
What it all boils down to is if your satisfied with the way your firearm shoots with no bedding than it isn't needed. If you're not then bed it and see if it helps. I have an uncle that never bed for many, many years and he could cosistantly shoot 1/4 to 1/2 groups consistantly all the time just by finding the load that gun liked. He was a great shot though and still is. I shot with him all the time so I was there. He now beds once in awhile and his groups have never gotten better. Wierd huh?

The Mk13 mod5 (AICS) that I saw was not bedded as best as I can tell. It is a bit different category though of course. Their ammo is mass produced by the lowest bidder. The bedding may not be the limiting factor on the platform. That said, why wouldn't you bed a rifle? On an AICS, I can see benefit to it simply to prevent snow/mud/crap from getting caught between the cylinder sitting on the flat tube.

Why don't all you guys who want to discuss BEDDING start a thread ... I'm' asking to see others' AICS rifles and stocks in my thread. Thank you,

Very nice Holmes, thought I recognized your bolt job ... "longshot" did mine too ... thinking of changing my trigger to a timney or Jewell. I want to re-barrel to a 22 inch heavy barrel with a different twist but not sure what to go with?(hunting and target shooting at long range) Can't remember base but badger rings and Leupold 16x scope with harris bi-pod. I have 2 AI magazines. I love my 2.0 folding AICS stock :D

You have roughly $3000 - $4000 invested into a precision rifle and then will manage to save $100 on the bedding and potentially compromise the consistency of the groups.

Thats certainly showing me ................. :jerkit:

Who cares? Is it your rifle? No? Too bad, it is not your decision. Now can we get along? Seriously guys, this stuff is getting old.
