Alright everyone,

I have a AR i built myself and all i have on it right now are Magpul MBUS sights and i am looking to put something else on, just stuck between these 2. I shoot anywhere from 5 m to 300 m, so yes i would be getting a magnifier either way.

Just wondering what people are running and like pros and cons to help me in this choice.

Thank you in advance

I have both. if your goin out that far get the H1 with the 2MOA dot. most of them come with a 4 MOA. The Eotech with have that fine 1 MOA dot at the center perfect with a magnifier. if your looking at weight the Aimpoint wins. Both are tougher than diamonds. if you want the most unobstructed view the aimpoint is your best bet. I like the eotech for getting on target fast. as for if one is faster than the other??? that's all based on the shooter IMO. battery life, I leave my H1 on all the time its rated for 5 years on med setting, my eotech has to be turned off. it does have an auto off tho. both use pretty standard batteries, H1 CR2032 Eotech 2x AA's. so if your at a comp and you run out of batteries (if your H1 dies you got a lemon but I digress) you can run to the gas station and most of them have those 2 batteries. now as for rail space L3 makes the XPS line which is just abit longer than the H1 so you wont loose to much space, if you run the 512 eotech like I am your gonna lose a lot of space. the only kicker with the Aimpoint is that it doesn't come with a riser so it sits right tight to the rail and wont allow for cowitness, the Eotech doesn't have this problem as it sits inline with the front post on an A2 sight. Cost wise, eotech wins at under 500, if you go for the XPS line then expect to pay as much as the H1 (600)

You can get a riser for the aimpoint for absolute or 1/3 co witness. I really like my T1 which is very similar to the H1
