Aim Sports mounts for the SKS?

Ghettoed a cheek pad with a piece of sheet metal, drawer liner, electrical tape, 2 nuts, 2 bolts.. Please note that the stock was already bubbad before I got her

I'll probably do an adjustable one out of kydex but I needed something quick for the last rifle night before another range closure. Another option would be an adjustable one out of rubber-dipped sheet metal.

I bought a couple more of these el-cheapos but with quick-detach because I could treat them as disposable. For SKS use I managed to shave it down by an inch. I cut off that 1 inch plate, removed most of the extra material with an angle grinder, flattened the surfaces with a belt sander, drilled, tapped (the aluminum is SO much easier compared to the Chinese SKS receiver ) and locked down with some red loctite. The difference is little more than 1", which means that I don't need that proverbial ladder of a cheek riser to get a good cheek weld ;)

One thing I forgot to account for was the lateral shift, so now it sits about 1/4" right of where it's supposed to be, but once it's zeroed for 100yds, it won't make a difference at any distance... We're talking about the SKS shooting milsurp.

I'm at approximately Choate height (can still use the irons) and I managed to pull the top mount toward the back of the rifle, thus enabling me to use clips again.. The reddot has been cowitness-sighted as a quick and dirty measure and I'll finish sighting her in next rifle night at the range.
