Aimpoint, the originator and global leader in red dot sighting technology, today announces the release of the new Aimpoint® COA™ R – a purpose-built rifle red dot sight designed for hunters who demand speed, clarity, and uncompromising reliability in dynamic shooting scenarios.
Developed as the rifle-focused member of the COA family, COA R brings the unmistakable advantages of the original COA optic to a wider range of hunting firearms. The sight features an ultra-compact, tubeless design weighing only forty-eight grams, a crisp 3.5 MOA aiming dot, and an optimized optical profile that supports rapid target acquisition at both close and extended distances.
COA R uses a dedicated adapter plate to install the A-CUT fooptprint on rifles equipped with MICRO-style mounting interfaces.. Once seated, the optic is secured in a full-length dovetail and locked by a front hook and rear wedge. No screws enter the sight housing, and no shear forces are placed on fasteners, ensuring repeatable zero retention even under heavy recoil.
The COA R sight is engineered specifically for use on hunting rifles, emphasizing control during fast follow-up shots and clarity in longer-range engagements. Whether used on lightweight driven-hunt rifles, versatile all-rounders, or modern straight-pull designs, COA R provides a streamlined form factor that remains unobtrusive yet instantly ready.
