I ve narrowed my black rifle sights to one of these two. Would like to hear from guys who have had experience with either and if given the chance would they make the purchase again.

Thanks

I don't think you can go wrong with either. You can also combine an Aimpoint magnifier with a EOTech optic.

Decide on the red dot you prefer and get the magnifier to go with it.

Edit: DemoDude has an EOTech magnifier for sale in the Optics Exchange at a decent price.

The Aimpoint vs Eotech is a matter of personal preference and needs. What are yours?

As for the magnifier...depends if you want to pay for quality or not.

Aimpoint magnifier - European glass
Eotech magnifier - Chinese glass

If you are going to slum it and buy the Eotech model I'd go all out and grab an Airsoft model, they are likely made in the same place.

Big Red have you ever noticed that the Aimpoint magnifier makes the Aimpoint dot slightly blurry? Almost kinda like 2 separate dots? Mine seems to do this and a few people that have looked thru it aswell, yes its a real one.

On a scope you can adjust so its clear for your eye but these magnifiers have no adjustment.

Please do yourself a favor and look at the NightForce 1-4X24. On one power it works as well as my aimpoint comp m4 and gives you 4 power magnification when you need it. Mangifiers are cool but if you don't line things up perfectly you will get refraction reflection of light that a single optic wont give you comprimizing your shot. Really, I don't think its a better combo than the NF.

I too was deciding about this recently, and decided to go with the Aimpoint CompM4s w/ LaRue Tactical QD Mount and the Aimpoint 3XMag w/ LaRue Tactical QD Pivot Mount.
