AIMPOINT ML2 or ML3

I would go with the ML3. the may difference is the increase in battery life 10,000 hrs on low setting up to 50,000 hrs on the ML3. I would also go with the ML3 as it is available with the 2MOA dot.

Having been a Aimpoint fan for a long time I recently switched to the M3 2MOA dot and love the smaller dot, for close-up shotting just increase the brightness and turn it down for more precise longer distance shooting. My personal M3 has been left on for over 4 months now and counting with no noticable difference in intensity.

Everything that Boltgun and Gadget have said is bang-on, however don't confuse what you want with what works. I use an older CompM-XD with 3 minute dot, this piece is dimensionally the same as all Aimpoints in the series however I have only 1000 Hours of battery life, I can live with it, the dot size is perfect and the price was less that half of the newer units. I have the original box and did notice that the original price was $654.00, I think the new M3 units are well past the $800.00 mark.

Is right I am a equipment whore;) , that being said and done he is right by saying the CompM-XD will do the job at a fraction of the cost of the new model.

It should be noted that as Gadget keeps upgrading I keep on buying his old stock, two of my 3 Aimpoints are his old ones.:D

I went with the ML3/2MOA dot. Like gadget says, if you want a bigger dot, turn it up a notch. Nice, uncluttered view. Can't argue with it's durability - hard to argue with 1/2 million in service and 50,000 hr battery life/no timeout.

Just got an aimpoint and was wondering if where you mount it is personal preference or does the scope work best in a specific spot....Bob

Bob, I think it is personal preference but for tac rifle and competition shooting I mount it as foreward on the flattop as possible, I find it quicker that way...it's where Jack O'Niel would mount it had he used an M4.

Are the Aimpoint ML3's on the ITAR list? Can we buy them in the US and bring them back or do we have to get import/export permits?

If you check out our retail price guide on our website we have Aimpoint listed now under misc optics. The most expensive option is $599. We should have a shipment here in about 30 days.
