I've decided that the Aimpoint Comp M4s with QRP2 knob is just too big and bulky. I really dislike the size of the knob, so I've been Larue mount shopping.
For reference it's a AR15.
I've got a mathematical issue now.
According to my calculations, and internet product specs this is what I've got...
My rifle with MBUS is a nice height. I like the cheek weld, position, eyeball comfort, etc. The QRP places the sight higher than my MBUS. Higher than I'd care for.
So, top of rail to approx center of aperture MBUS height 1.42"
Now the M4s with QRP and spacer, top of rail to center of dot, 39mm (1.535") which is higher than I'd care for... and without the riser is about 1.181". I feel this is much too low.
Now the Larue specs;
Larue Tall 1.725
Larue NV 1.535
Larue HK 1.395
Now providing Aimpoint and Larue and the "wisdom" of the Internet all aligns, doesn't it seem like the Larue HK is the right choice? But it seems low being advertised for an HK 416 (and very low).
I'd hate to shell out cash to find its wrong. Prefer opinions from personal experience?
