Aimpoint on a hunting rifle

Wasn't trying to talk you out of it...... realize now that my post wasn't written very clearly....

My buddy with the .300 winnmag bar has the aimpoint on it..... nice clear optic and has served him very well..... he has taken a few deer with it and dogged with it and it's always stayed solid.....

Brad I know you weren't trying to talk me out of it LOL your replies and input are always wanted....

I have an aimpoint on my 375 H&H. Its quick and you can shoot with both eyes opened.

I tried the Burris ff. was okay. Thought of aimpoint. Now run a leupold vx6 1-6 with illuminated dot. Very happy 1x with dot in the timber works awesome with ability to crank up if needed. Alumina flip caps are a little upgrade from the aimpoint also. One optic less hassle.

I tried an Aimpoint Micro H but for me it was not a good choice. Nothing to do with the sight. I have astigmatism in my eyes so the red dot looks like a jelly fish with long tentacles. Not an ideal sighting arrangement. The battle sight on a Lee Enfield gives a clearer sight picture in my case. If you are contemplating buying a red dot sight of any type, make sure it is something your eyes are compatible with. I traded my Aimpoint for a Leupold 1.5-4 variable . Works better for me.
