I'm building a CQB themed AR15. I already have an EOtech on another build and I love it, the 1 MOA dot works for me. I want to try something new and the Aimpoint is the way I want to go.

The thing that is going to make a difference is the 2 or 4 MOA dot. I don't really care about size, price and batt. life. Am I better off with a 2 or 4 MOA dot? I'm thinking, if 4 MOA is ok, the Micro is the way to go. if not, the M(L)3 will do.

I really like my Aimpoint M4, with integral mount. Long battery life and no rings to mess around with.

2MOA dot.

I own 2 micros and i find them to be the best for my shortie guns.I want to get another someday for my Tacticool 870.

Do the Micro :D

Its a very accurate red-dot, and you can always turn the brightness down a little to make the dot appear smaller and crisper.

Its SUPER light, and very strong. I have an ADM-Low mount, so if you go with the ADM QR mount as well, with appropriate spacer to make it the proper height.

Mine has handled the recoil of 12 gauge just awesome! 3" slugs, buckshot and birdshot. No problems with slippage or wear to the mount (both the original mount and the ADM)

To be honest, it would be almost impossible to notice the difference in size of the dot under most circumstances. An AR15 front post is something like 12 or 13 MOA, so you're already a third of that size with the red-dot! :D

I got mine from Daves surplus for a good price. If you mention you are a cgnr you could get a discount. Not sure if hes still doing that but you never know.

For something geared towards cqb type shooting, you won't notice the difference between the dot sizes of the M series and Micros.

I also suggest the H-1. Does everything the T-1 does at a lower price(without NV, but I don't need it on my personal guns anyway), and is pretty much just as durable and waterproof as the T-1.
I have a couple of each, and the next one I buy will be another H-1.

Thanks for the link Redleg! Your price of $709.80 is way better:D than DStactical at $814.99 for the T1

DS Tactical does offer a 10% discount for CGN members though :)

I did when I got mine from them. Just include "I am a Canadian Gun Nutz member my screen name is: #########", thats what i did.

TSE's new price is VERy good though, almost as low as they were going for over a year ago!

Well, I finally went for a compML3 which I just bought from TSE. Considering that I don't need/want to pay extra for the NV features, I don't care about a weight difference of 4-5oz, one way or the other I would need a mount (to have full co-witness with the micro...) the ML3 is the best bang for the buck for me. Plus I'm doing business with a canadian sponsor who truly has incredible prices (even if you look on the other side of the border).

Oh, and I went with the 2 MOA dot.

Thanks for all of your input guys!

Edit last post: just got a reply from The Shooting Edge staff, they are sold out of 2MOA ML3... and no ETA on the next shipment... darn! Well maybe next time! Thanks anyway Redleg!

I know your first attempt didn't work out but did you end up with a CompML3? I was under the impression that only the CompM4 came with a mount.
