Just got a used aimpoint pro and when I received it I saw something weird on the back lens. The 3 brightest settings seem to cause a second dot in the center of the rear lens, as if it's reflecting off a scratch or a spec of dust. I attached a pic for you guys to see. Does anyone else have this "issue" or did I get a dud?

I have no experience with aimpoint but are you sure that it isn't a cheap Chinese knock off?

It's like a reflection in the back glass, it doesn't move when I move the sight left and right it just stays in the same spot on the back glass.

Serial number on the box means nothing. Did you purchase it from an authorized dealer? If so, bring it back. If not, take up airsoft as a new hobby :) (couldn't resist)

Just checked mine, does it as well. But I'm indoors at night, I doubt how noticeable it would be in direct sunlight when you would be using it at that setting maybe. And I did buy mine from a well know shop, it is a real aimpoint.

Indoors, mine does the same at max illumination. I bought my Aimpoint from an authorized dealer. Try it outdoors in very bright conditions. I've never had to crank it up that high.

I wouldn't worry too much about it being a clone, to my knowledge most of the airsoft Aimpoint copies are based on the higher end models (T1, M3, M4, etc.)

I took it outside as Trinimon suggested and it seems to considerably reduce the reflection. It's still there on the max setting.

Guess it's something I'll have to live with. Another local club member purchased two from a reputable store and he seems to have the same symptoms.

That's ####ed I've never owned a pro but probably had 7 or 8 other aimpoints and never had anything like that, I'm pretty sure that would drive me bat#### crazy.

I have a chinese Aimpoint T-1 knockoff. It doesn't have such effect. May it be a bug of this particular model?
You can contact Aimpoint and ask them about the issue, but the worst part is that according to the Aimpoint Service/Repair Policy, the warranty is non-transferable.

I just tried with my PRO and it appears to be reflection in the rear glass when you crank her right up.
I get a tiny centred dot projected on to the rear glass, which disappears when I turn it down a couple notches.
When it's all cranked up it lights up the tube walls, which I think is what causes the reflection in the glass.
I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time lol
Not really a big deal to me as I never run it all cranked up anyways.

It is what it is, I guess...

Normal. It does that because you're using way too high of a brightness setting for the environment you're in.
