Aimpoint T2 lense issue?

I bought this T2 brand new a few months ago, I run it on a short AR and have done nothing to it other then shoot the thing.

While cleaning my upper today I noticed the front lense on the sight has been pushed in on an angle

Has anyone ever seen that before?

And do you think Aimpoint will fix it for me? I have not had it more then 6 months

It looks like if I can get the correct tool I can just unscrew the lense push it back into place from the inside and then screw the cap back on

I just dont want to mess with it if I dont have the right tool as it was $800, if it comes down to it if I can buy that tool I could make one on my CNC

I emailed the store I bought it from to see what they say, but Id hate to have to send this back to the manufacture for such a small problem

I personally wouldn't try to fix it... you will void the warranty.

Warranty:

Aimpoint guarantees its products to be free from original manufacturer defects in material and/or workmanship under normal use for a period of 2 years for professional or competition use and 10 years for personal use from the date of purchase.

Personal use shall mean: use of the sight in a way that implies less exposure than professional use. Professional or frequent competition use shall mean: daily or highly frequent use of the sight in professional activities (military or law enforcement) or under conditions that could be compared to as professional.

The warranty is valid provided that the sight has not been misused, disassembled or tampered with in any way. Any attempt to disassemble or repair the product will void the warranty.

The warranty agreement is limited to the original owner and is not transferable.

Any warranty claim must be accompanied by a copy of the original receipt showing date of purchase.

My objective lens is a little bit inclined!

This is not a broken sight! The front lens is a little bit inclined due to the fact the diode is not located in the centre of the sight but it might be located either in the roof part or the lower part of the sight depending on the model. The lens and the diode are in line with one and other.

Thanks for the info! I would have never thought it would come from the factory that crooked on purpose, but a google search shows its normal and an alignment made at fatory. A 1mm or less I could understand but mine is off by about 3-4mm it looks so crooked I though for sure it was wrong

I guess I just never noticed untill I took off the flip up covers that come on the T2
 
The front lense is supposed to be at an angle to refect the LED diode. The diode is located at the side. How else do you think it can reflect the dot to the middle? ;)

I haven't shot it since I noticed it but Im sure its fine now. I was just really surprised its that crooked, but I understand how it works now. Just a real surprise to me as Im fairly new to this sport and its my first Aimpoint product, and at first glance I was like WTF that's so crooked. I only have a EoTech and 2 Trijicon RMR's for other red dots to compare optics design, the RMR's only have one lens, and the EoTech has 2 but both in parallel alignment

You know what they say you learn something new every day
