Air Arms TX200 .22cal

Wow😮 that’s a beauty! Is that the 3-9 air max or the 4-12? How do you like the scope, have never looked through one but some of the reviews say they find the crosshairs too thin. Was thinking of one these scopes for my next airgun purchase.

I have the Hawke Air-Max 4x12 scopes on a 97K, Tx200 & Air Arms Pro Sporter…
Maybe not the best scope in terms of optical quality BUT one of the only scopes that survives long term physical abuse of the double opposite recoil shock of Springer air rifle.
That’s what the Hawke AirMax was designed to do and it does it well. Springers will eat most other scopes up before breakfast. I learned that lesson the hard way, several times over….

Lovely gun, and IMHO you definitely made the right choice in going with the .22-cal version. I had a TX200 years ago, wonderful gun but I slightly prefer the HW97. Both so good that it's really splitting hairs to choose one over the other.

My favourite airgun scope is a Leupold fixed 6x AO model, I have a couple on springer rifles. I recall reading somewhere that all Leupolds are airgun-rated; I have one that has lived on a HW97 for probably 4000+ rounds and still holds zero perfectly. Not sure about tracking; I typically zero a scope and then never touch it unless something changes my POI, like changing velocities, projectiles weights, etc. Once I find a combo I like...that's it, I ain't touching it. :)

How about it, Demonical? You've had that puppy for almost a year now; I'm betting you're just as impressed now, or even more so?

I don’t know he kind of just dropped off the face of the earth 🙄
Sorry bud, I actually did drop off CGN for some time. I got caught in the 'locked account' thing, where I had to change my password but my email had changed. Took me awhile to figure that out!

Now as to the question on the crosshairs, yes, I think they are too fine. I wanted the model with the thicker crosshairs but I let buddy at the shop talk me into the real fine crosshairs. If I had a do over I'd have got the thicker reticle.
And of course I live in Alberta, bought the scope in Peterborough so I can't do the swap.
