Air Pistols for Home Practice

Sorry for the hijack, but I always wanted a nice 22 for grouse/squirrel...any recommendations for which would be the most accurate?

I have shot a lot of gophers with pellet guns as a kid and the only pistol I would recomend is a crosman 2240 or one of its fancier variants. 470 fps with .22 cal pellets and easily tuned for performance with heavier pellets (keep it under 500 fps or it becomes restricted) even in its stock form it counted for a lot of pigeons and gophers. being CO2 it doesnt like the cold but if you are so inclined it can also be converted to HPA

Agreed -- I shoot a S&W K14 Target Masterpiece and a S&W Model 41 at the range, but I've also found that shooting a $90 Crosman 1377 pumper at home has actually helped my handgun shooting noticeably, even tho the Crosman doesn't resemble the others and has a rough trigger. But it is still useful practice. It's most accurate with 3 or 4 pumps. One day I'll get a properly accurate air pistol, probably a Tau, or an Izmash if they ever become available again.

I started shooting "pistol" with an Weihrauch HW 45 and shot it for years and still have one. I got used to the grip which worked out fine since it copies the 1911 grip and even has removable panels and a similar weight to the powder burner. The main spring recoils towards the shooter so it emulates the hold sensitivities found in the actual 1911. It doesn't have the movable slide but for me it is a very high quality and satisfying pistol to shoot at home. Luckily i have an older model as all the newer ones use fiber optics for some reason :(
