Air Rifle Advise Needed!!!

Geeze, I'm wiping up coffee after spitting it out after reading this!

No kidding. I have a $1500 German PCP topped with a $1000 scope. It shoots 1/"2 groups at 50 yards all day long. I could hit a squirrel at 100 yards with it but I sure as hell wouldn't call it easy.

No way that guy does it with a Crosman break barrel. He's full of ####.

I bought a Diana 34 22 cal. from a dealer North of Anola, just off hwy 1 in Manitoba, can't recall his name at the moment, (paid something like 320.00) but he gave me a can of H&N 14.66 gr. 500 rounds "Field, Target, Trophy " pellets to try out. Last fall I used that rifle and pellets for chicken season and bagged close to 30 grouse, all head shots at around 50/60 yards, no lost or wounded birds, no breast damage like i used to get with the 20ga.

Anyway what I'm getting at is; that ###y looking Benjamin rifle in the video sucks if it can't hit the bulls eye 90% of the time, The Diana with no scope has to be hitting within a 1/2" @ 50yds.

30 consecutive head shots at 50-60 yards is world-class accuracy. I would go back and buy every tin of those pellets the guy has left and never let go of that springer!

I had a Nitro Venom briefly, and sold it in disgust after less than 100 shots. I wish I hadn't because at the time I didn't know a thing about pellet guns so I did not understand barrel break-in or the artillery hold - I benched it like a .22 and got horrible groups. Tried everything I knew (ALL wrong) and gave up. Now I am infatuated with PCP's, which are much more user friendly for guys used to gunpowder. Tuning and tweaking is fun and there's something great about sniping pigeons around the farm with no hearing protection needed.

I found the invoice for the Diana 34 classic while going through my 2015 receipts for filing income taxes. The company name is; AIRHEADS and the owner's name is, Lorne Rougeau. E-mail address is; airheads@live.com

I fired off the last 45 rounds of H&N pellets at a target last Monday, just to see what kind of groups I was really getting, I was clad to see I wasn't far off my original thought of 1/2 an inch, there was a few that strayed about an inch but I can't blame that on the ammo or rifle. It was cold outside and I was shooting from the van and resting the barrel on the driver's side mirror, less than idea shooting conditions. And now I am out of H&N pellets. I'll have to call Lourne tomorrow morning and see if they have any H&N in stock.

Baron,, have you ever tried cooking any of those pigeons? They taste much the same as a Spruce or Ruffed Grouse, only half the size, it takes about 5 or 6 birds to make a meal for two.

I haven't eaten pigeon yet, but we will. We've got a few breast in the freezer. A couple more and I'm going to try out a pigeon pie recipe I found. All they eat is grain, so they should taste just fine.

Hopefully Lorne has more of the same lot# of pellets for you. Buy a few tins and keep filling the freezer wid 'em!
