I am not sure if this is the correct place, but it seems the closet to discuss air rifles.
I am considering one because at the trap club I am at we cannot shoot rifles, but air rifles are going to be allowed and we built a 50 yard air rifle/crossbow range.
I have been looking at Diana (RWS) and GAMO. Anybody have any thoughts on these two regards quality, accuracy, value for the dollar? Thanks in advance.
 
All other things being equal, Diana, hands down.....match grade adjustable triggers, into the ounce range on even the low end guns. I've had 34's, 48's, 52's and a 70 over the years, in .177 and .22. Great guns, a tad expensive, superb quality.

Fixed barrel, side cocking is the way to go for field target shooting. You'all also need a scope that can handle the push-pull recoil of a spring-piston gun. The Bushenll 3-9x32AO with Target turrets is what I use.
 
Thx guys. From what I can see the Diana is a good deal on a quaility air rifle. It looks like you have to spend a lot more to get better. I am eying the mod 48 in 22 caliber. It should be fun to shoot and seems to get very positive writeups.
 
The first thing I would do is contact Airguns of Airizona. Check out their web site. These guys have fabulous service and know how ship PAL airguns into Canada as they do alot of business with Canadians. With the dollar the way it is you have a whole new game when it comes to buying airguns. I just bought two high end PCP airguns, a Falcon and a BSA Ultra in .22 cal. and they took 4 days from when I placed my order to receiving them at my home.:D:D:D They are both PAL airguns. If you can afford it, go PCP, Precharged pnuematics. Unbelievable accuracy, no recoil and extremely high quality. Springers are nice but PCP guns take it to a whole different level. I have both springers and PCP guns and guess which ones get the most use.
 
Mr AR15 Man: When you order do they tell you how much shipping would be and as well how much duty you may have to pay? I am sure there would be customes or does that get added at the post office or where ever.
 
Don't forget you have to factor in the price of either a pump (think bike pump from hell, that you will be swearing at routinely, hahaha) or a scuba tank and all the required accessories for those if you go the PCP route. You will be paying more than simply the price of the gun itself. Personally, I'd go the scuba tank route, even though it can sometimes be tough to get one and get it filled if you don't have a dive ticket. Extremely cheap to fill one up, though, and you get lots of shooting from one fill.
 
I have the hand pump for my Condor and I only shoot around 20 pellets before I top it up. It takes about 3 pumps per shot to bring it back up.

Airguns of Arizona include all duties (if any), brokerage fees, GST/PST, etc. in the cost of shipping. When the Fedex man arrives he just hands it to you and you sign your name.

My last purchase (five days ago) was for a Falcon FN-8 pistol for $549. The shipping came to $150 and included EVERYTHING noted above. Ordered it on Monday and got on Friday. These guys really have their act together.:dancingbanana::dancingbanana:[
