Got hit with ads for these guys... Thoughts? Anyone use them? I thought receiving compensation for hunting land use wasn't even legal?

Paying in anyway to access land is a recipe for disaster. Ten years from now it wld all be american only hunters and yuppees. A small gift after or before the season or some sausage without an expectation for access is reasonable. If you have basic people skills and dont look like a dirtbag permission isnt hard to come by. As a rule of thumb anything within an hour of a city has had all bridges burned by the idiots who came before you.

Ducks unlimited canada also gets their marching orders and cash from liberals. Very anti gun.

Ducks Unlimited Canada is officially neither pro or anti gun.

They take a lot of flack for not supporting firearms rights but the truth is if they lobby for anything outside of their mandate, which is Land Conservation, they risk loosing their status as a charitable organization and the tax breaks that come along with it.

I wonder if one's property insurance might have something to say about this? In the summer of 2020, I found out about an app where you could register to rent out your pool on an hourly basis to strangers. People were listing crazy rates so I thought it might be a good way to replace a bit of my lost income. The first call I made was to my home insurance provider who told me they'd absolutely NOT cover me for liability related to commercial use of my pool. I was free to lend it to someone I knew for free, but advertising and renting for a fee was considered a breach of my policy.

What does HUNTER SAETY have to do with RENTING your land to hunters?

Ask anyone you know who goes to Manitoulin Island what their setup is.
I know a group who has rented the same farm house and farm for ever...

Just that the hunter safety course keeps saying that it's illegal to offer monetary compensation for hunting rights... This is literally paying someone for access to their land for hunting. But I think I see your point - the payment is just for access and hunting is secondary to that.

The ohep is to the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Act as the cfsc is to the Firearms Act...do yourself a favour and, in both cases, discount the former and learn the latter.
