airgun classifieds

Hi all,

I will be honest with you. The biggest hurdle is "airsoft guns". If we put up an EE forum for airguns, we will have to figure out what to do with airsoft guns. There is no easy and practical way to separate air guns from airsoft guns. It will end up that the airgun people will be irritated because people are posting airsoft guns in the airgun forums. This ends up generating more problems for us than we bargain for, as we will be moving threads all day long, in addition to dealing with the complicated rules concerning airsofts.

The moderators don't have any knowledge of airsoft guns, to properly monitor the EE forums and deal with the arguments generated whenever peoples' threads got removed. They are as busy as they are already with the other EE subjects, they really cannot pick up another subject matter that needs more indepth knowledge.

The fact is that there are a lot of grey market and airsoft imported by individuals, they could be considered as "replica". We don't want to go into that area.

Thank you for this reply.
As you state, the whole Airsoft, non-PAL rated, full-PAL rated classifications are confusing.
Still, it is a shame to see Feinwerkbau, Weihrauch, and RWS airguns listed as, "All Other Stuff" - kind of goes against the spirit of our site. There must be a better solution.

If it is for Air Rifles Only that you would need a PAL to purchase, then no Airsofts would fit that bill anyway. Any air rifle that is classed as a Fire Arm Only, to be listed/sold. {Sounds Good to Me:} I would love to buy a decent air rifle that shoots 900 + fps.
