So now I see Air Canada has jumped in on the ban on "hunting trophies" bandwagon. Like the other's they state...'hides,horn, tusk's etc from the big-5'. So how much business are they really turning away? Lets see if they have the ball's to ban the hunter's. Fact is I'd sooner flap my arms than fly A/C anyway. I say we ban them.

hunters for the big 5 are not that much in numbers for sure but wait when they will ban other trophies and then firearms ... this is just the beginning ...

i already banned them as i ve seen them being really anti hunters already nothing new ... soon we wont be able to use airlines for travelling ...

we are lucky there is so much good opportunity of hunting in Canada.

Isn't it on international flights only?
I gather just Africa (for now).

My $0.02 is that unless you're going to eat what you hunt or protecting livestock it all little man syndrome therapy.
A 'trophy' is in the eye of the beholder. My 'trophy' is the hunt itself, then meat then antler's in that order. In over 35 years of hunting from NB to BC I've never met a hunter that said he only hunted for antler's.
At heart I'm a 'sustanace (meat) hunter' I guess, but I'm willing to hold out for the chance of meeting an older animal, past his breeding years with the chance of coming away with nothing that day. If that makes me a 'trophy hunter' so be it.

Well longbranch if the intention hunting a lion, or any big cat or animal that you know you won't eat or cannot eat to begin with is definitely little man syndrome. Example the dentist. Another $0.02 of mine is that sport hunting with guns isn't really a sport, bows yes, Spears definitely.

Soon to be on the pink side.

You realize that the trophy fees for big game hunting supports communities, safe water, literacy, and employment. Hungry enough, Lion would taste good. Perhaps you get your meat from the store where its made, not commercial farming? Game exists anywhere only because it has a value, take away that value and it will be gone. Outfitters trackers become poachers, poached meat instead of from the outfitters. Poaching is also punishable by death on sight in many african countries, so the ivory or horn is taken and much of the meat rots. Soon there is nothing....no game....no revenue....no literacy.....no water.

Stories from on site claim the Lion came to a natural killed Elephant and was not poached. Radio collar turned in as is regulation. Weep for the gazelles and zebra he ate if you must. A 13 year old Lion is like a 120 year old person, it happens..almost never. National Geographic will need a new cover model.

Much of Africa experiences Coup's so regularly that firearms ownership by the populace is rare. A poor man chasing Elephants from his crops with pots and pans works only once. He starves. Dangerous game that has lost its fear of man is truly dangerous. Where are your big five then...dead. Hunting keeps the numbers in check, not competing with cattle and fearing to eat Cattle, villagers, and crops.

I am sure you know this and are just trolling. If you dont, then why are you a member of a firearms and hunting site?? Enjoy the lentils, but say a prayer for them....they probably screamed when harvested.

Trophies are carried by cargo planes anyways. So it won't really affect anyone. However airlines that hop on this bandwagon for PR reasons will get none of my business if I can help it.

for the win - and all the CEO's of said airlines know this and they know the stupid PETA's don't know this so we all know these announcements are PURE 100% BS PR

Why are you getting upset over something that you have control over?
The control is called freedom to pick and choose the airline one wishes to travel with.
The rant is no different than what the antis are purporting.
I chose to not support the Good Doctor (sic) for my own reasons... and being a trophy hunter was not the reason I chose to not support that guy.
Relax, inhale... exhale....

According to the local news monkies, Air Canada is banning something they don't actually do often. Air Canada doesn't fly to anywhere in Africa. So their PR policy is moot.
Elephant tusks can't be imported anyway. Nor can elephant ivory products.

Not interested in any of the big-5 myself. If I won't eat it I won't kill it. I wouldn't even try to hunt with a spear a1dookie. Just my 2 cents.
