Love that AK

It is an Arsenal, NV import. Bought by my brother for a truck gun in Texas.

Saiga Legends stamped AK103 receiver with 922r compliance parts. eg: The brake is a 922r US copy of the Bulgarian brake. This should not be confused with the modded Saiga sporter POS.

Mags are Bulgarian waffle pattern. Not us 10 round neutered.

Furniture is plum. Rail is ultimak. Sight is Aimpoint Micro T1

Chambered in 7.62x39

'Infidel' decal is from Suarez International's gear shop.

Less than $1000 USD tax in.

Took a while to find non-premium (DPX) ammunition at reasonable prices tho...

Now ask me if I'm just a bit jealous...

There is nothing wrong with trying to find a classy way to cap off some cheap 7.62*39.

I did some analysis and my reload cost for 223 is at $0.24/round not counting my time.

I can get surplss 7.62*39 for $0.18/round tax in.

Makes a man think doesn't it!!

Yeah. And time isn't free, precious, is it? Hmmm. No it isn't. *Gollum*

FWIW, the price of 5.45x39 is ridiculously low there. About $130 / 1120. But not many guns, and the munition supply is purported to be lower.

Still, I'd have a 40k round stash at those prices (around $5k). And with 2 rifles to shoot it in case one died, I'd never look back.

Ah the old "Hungry" principle

Don't buy one - buy 2, that way your D*ck will not fall off!! :D

... The 5.45x39 is superior to the 5.56x45 because, out of a short barrel, it will still tumble, whereas the 5.56x45 requires the high velocity offered with a longer barrel to shatter.

Check your facts. You're comparing the yawing or tumbling effect of the 5.45 to the fragmentation effect of current 5.56(M193, M855 or equivalent). Reliable fragmentation of the 5.56 is achieved at velocities at or above 2700fps. Reliable(key word is reliable) yawing/tumbling is achieved at velocities between 2500-2700. Below that yawing still occurs but is not a guarantee.

As for short barreled rifles. They excel in CQB/short range engagements so terminal performance at distance shouldn't be an issue. Either way, shot placement is the name of the game.

If you notice, all rifle rounds yaw(if they don't fragment first), its physics.

Of course, shot placement is key. Bears have been taken down with well placed .22lr. I won't argue that point.

I think you need to take a good hard long look at the world. The Kalashnakov series of rifles have nothing to do with what people do too each other. It is political ideology and simple economics that put those rifles into the hands of every tinpot dictator and communist f**ktard on the planet, aswell as "child" soldiers. If the M16 was the less expensive rifle you'd be seeing it on the news every night instead of the AK/AKM.

Very true. In Rwanda they used machetes to kill hundreds of thousands.
Do we blame the person that designed, manufactured, and sold machetes?
