I have my doubts whether the plastic would be strong enough to support a pin. I think the "waffle" is there to give the plastic some ridgidity.

It's too bad there isn't source for these mags in Canada. They are known as some of the best AK mags going. No worries about the plastic supporting a pin.

Thje mags are not hard to get. Just very little market, so few dealers interested.

In what way are they better than steel mags ?
I would be concerned about blocking them with a rivet, plastic cracks, especially when when it gets exposed to sunlight. Gluing a pice of plastic on the inside would probably do the trick, but it would be awkward to do.
