AK-47 pistol grip forearm for tactical-2?

Would it be possible?:confused:
 
It is too short, Ive tried it already. The only thing you can use from an AK is the pistol grip and the buttstock with a bit of work.
 
Pistol grip usually needs no fitting, The buttstock however needs to be reshaped and a hole drilled for the stock bolt, One of our esteemed CGN VZ58 GURUs has done it , I just cant find the picture though.
 
Thoes are not AK grips. Only the buttstock is from an AK. The grips and guard are VZ58, just the wood type, not the presswood the CZ858 comes with. I got them in a parts kit from wolverine when I bought my CZ. I didn't even ask for wood so they were a plesent surprise :)

BTW, I just bought a bayonet with wood grips on ebay....when it arrives EVERYTHING will match! Woot!

So basically it will just take some hunting to find a ak47 buttstock? It sure would be handy if some Canadian dealers had some in stock.

Don't know of any dealers, but it shouldn't be a problem to find an AK buttstock in the parts EE here on CGN, it's where I got mine. Keep in mind though that you have to drill a new hole in the buttstock to make it fit, at it had better be at a good angle because if not the stock will be too high to shoot with the iron sights. The end must also be reshaped to fit the VZ/CZ buttstock spacer cap. Not hard but if your not handy with wood work that it can get irritating:p

Thanks Tyockell, its just my way of nursing the wound left by the libbies for not letting me have an AK:(

I'm going to make one from scratch, use the stock presswood ones for a template and recreate from them.
It will take some time but if your good with your hands it'll get done just the same.

I always had a thing for the Romanian Ak's so I'll let everyone know when I get it done.
 
I made a front grip from scratch and a pistol grip. The main problem is having it forward enough and small enough for the magazine to come out easily. I started by making one from a photocopy of a Romanian front slanting grip, but it is located too close to the magazine. The experiment ended like this.

Ok thanks for the heads up Deckard, I kind of suspected this. I will be making mine a different shape then yours. Alot like the romanian one but further up.
I'll squeeze it in so that there is just a little bit of extra room to remove the mag, after playing around with it a bit more I can see how much I have to play with.

what did you get that flash supressor off of?, Jungle carbine?.

I will also do a true Romanian grip sometime soon. But making the lower handguard is harder than it looks. Getting it to fit up front was the hardest part. That flash suppressor is a true 58 accessory.
 
looked at your pics here, and made my own pistol grip, tried to be as close to ak47 as possible, change the angle of the stock handle and obviously shape. i can make them and sell if anyone's interested. i didnt stain it yet, as i want to do front grips same colour too, i'll post after pics when im done.
