Currently in Canada they are worth about $450 per tonne at the scrap metal place. Guys who don't have them think they are desirable. Guys who have had them and shot them think they are reliable but there are more accurate and more powerful guns out there.
The VZ58 is a better gun than an AK - I have shot both and prefer the VZ to the AK but am keeping my AK so I keep 12(5) status.

I bought several for less than $200.00 -
I prefer the garand - now that is a real battle rifle.

No offense taken.

Back when it was legal I ran about 8000 rounds through several AKs. I have also shot the VZ just enough to appreciate the differences. How many AKs have you had the pleasure of shooting?
 
The problem is in the TRANSPORT to the range.

If your range is cleared for Prohib fire and you live there...you are GTG

Now getting CFO clearance would be interesting to do and would likely take a court action
But if anyone wants to buy me a chunk of land I would be game!!

Not according to the Alberta C.F.O.
We had planned a small gunshow using the building at our range. Authorizations to transport could be issued to the show but we were told in no uncertain terms that we were NOT allowed to fire these guns at the range, enen though the actual firing line is less then sixty metres from the clubhouse..
 
so it's basically the same as getting a concealed carry permit, you know, the ones that are available but no one can get them.

Here is an idea, let me know what you guys think. If i were to get my trapping license, and say i lived on say 10 acres, would that help getting my concealed carry permit and legally carry my guns on my own property?

a few in 7.62 and 5.45 in both semi and full auto... I served in soviet army...never shot the VZ so I can't really argue which one is better but I handle it at the store and didn't really like it...but who gives a s**t :D
