'Cause its a weird gun. They changed from a pistol grip to the traditional type stock, so they had to alter the trigger. Actually works quite well.
Likely so that you could actually pull the trigger with the hunting stock.
It looks like the trigger guard mounts where the pistol grip used to mount.
