AK marketing propoganda

For what its worth... I just got back from cambodia where I shot both a 1952 Russian Ishevsk AK47 and a 70s era M16A1. Neither had been cleaned in forever. The AK jammed 5 times, the AR didnt jam at all. Overall, I prefer the CZ to the AK anyways. Simpler, lighter... That said, I would also like to get my first AR soon... Guns are like boobies. Can a guy really discriminate against any of em?

AR has less critical parts, less failures.

I have shot both and by far I prefer the AK 47 design.

Not a fan of a weapon that 5hits where it eats (the AR design).
Also not a fan of the cocking mechanism on the AR's. That lobster claw, top rear location nonsense is junk. Even with modern tabbed cocking handles it's still awkward to me.

There is a reason why almost every major modern firearm development has gone back to short stroke piston and charging handles attached to the bolt carrier.

Hell in that respect, it's a damned shame the AR180 didn't get a chance to develop with funding like the AR did. That rifle had all the potential of having the best of both worlds between the AK47 and AR design ( cartridge comparrisons aside of course )

I like a more simple and solid rifle and for that I hands down prefer the AK design. They are not nearly as innacurate as people think.
I like the overall weight and feel of the AK hands down.

Cool documentary by the way. Thanks for posting!
