AK47 in Montreal or CZ 858

The CZ858 is as good as it gets. At least for now ; I've been looking at the "coming soon" section of the tacticalimports.ca website, and they have a pretty exciting rifle on there, the type 81, that they say will be available in 2013, given that it passes the RCMP review.

Very neat firearm... I would buy one if it came with full wood furniture.
 
I own and have shot both the AK and the CZ/VZ 58/858. The 858 is a superior shooter but the trigger on an AK can be "Tuned" to be better.
The 858 is also more accurate and to be at least, "Feels" better when shooting.

I never said it was acceptable to limit/restrict/ban any firearm from being available. My point was, that even though our elected dictatorship for a government has decided to ban AK's its not a serious loss compared to the VZ. Personally, I'm all for no restrictions on any firearms and all for less government in general.

Just because it says "in stock" doesn't mean it is, nor does it mean it was recently imported. I can almost guarantee it wasn't as no new prohibs are/were permitted in country for private sales when the 12X system was introduced.

Wow, sorry if i started any arguments here..... :) I am a newbie, not as well versed in the "art of gunning" not sure if that makes sense but sounded cool.. Anyways i will let me buddy know about the CZ 858. He found one in a store in Montreal for $725 fixed stock.

As for the delivery of the ammo, like i said i am new to mail order ammo and just assumed that there were more precautions/regulations in place when ordering... I did give my PAL when ordering...

Well once again thanks to all for the info and tips... I will post when my buddy gets his 858...

Prohibited AK's are also semi-automatic rifles. I'd wager that 95% of the grandfathered AK's in Canada, probably more, are all either semi-automatic or converted automatic. The AK wasn't banned because it was a fully automatic rifle, it was banned because some jerkholes in the 90's didn't like it. It sort of sounded to me like you were saying AK's are banned because they're full auto. If you weren't saying that, disregard this.

marstar's full auto stuff is not for private sale to normal people but for people that have a business licenses and law enforcement

Now my newbie question is, are AK 47s illegal 100%? I mean i think i saw a store here in Montreal selling them, but it was modified to be semi only and the clips only help 5 rounds, they were selling this for $800, it came with 4 clips, shoulder strap, pouches, cleaning kit and was in a cardboard box. Now this was last year, but now after seeing a CZ 858 for the first time a few weeks back, i am wondering if that is what i saw rather than an AK47?? I am going to call them this morning to see what is what...

So lets say it was a CZ 858, is there anything he should be looking out for or looking for in general when purchasing an 858?

I have an 858, best rifle. You wont regret it. Shoots great, cheap to feed, and is easy to work on. Then youll have fun getting all tye upgrades. Plus, you can do CQB with it!
