AK47 ULTIMAK Rail Problem

Hi guys,
Maybe someone can help. Santa delivered a ULTIMAK AK Rail under the tree this year ... but to my dismay its too short for the Norinco 84 ;(
I was looking forward to mounting an optic on this project...

Anyone have these problems?

oo bugger..ultimak stuff is hard to come by from what i've heard..
How short are you talking?

Its about a few mm exactly enough to be short.

This may end up on teh EE board if I cant get this operational.

Can i see a pic of it on? It could be extended by tapping the end of the tube and making a flush fitting extension kind of like this:

Its for the top rifle .. Ill get detailed pictures of the problem tonight ;(

Based on the pics, shouldn't you have the rail with the gas ports already cut out? That model would probably fit better. Kinda looks like the wrong rail IMHO.

The rail you have is not for the Chinese variant, it will fit on a Russian, Bulgarian,etc AK. Santa should have brought the handguard made for the Chinese Type 56 semis
