Can anyone explain why the 308win Turkish semis are so much cheaper than the 223rem ones?...
My guess is because the .308 ones are made by a different manufacturer and seem to be of significantly worse quality than the .223 ones.

the Alcor 223 has quickly become my new favorite gun. accurate, points well, and a breeze to clean.
I’m having trouble deciding between the Alcor and Chimera. I suspect there’s not much difference. However the Chimera has a threaded barrel and shoots 556. Alcor seems to be more popular though.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Alcor, so much so that I purchased another: one to put in the Crusader chassis and one to leave in the wood.
How was it putting it in the Crusader chassis?
How was the fitment? Any issues regarding loose-ness or anything else?

No man!

It was super easy. The rear sight needs to be removed.

Fitment was excellent. Everything snugged up and centered. Even the barrel is equal distance all the way around at the end of the forearm - looks almost floated.

Very VERY impressed with the kit.

Appreciate the reply sir. Is this rifle able to shoot 5.56? I find mixed comments online about it being able to shoot both .223 and/or 5.56

Some say yes. Some say no.

Honestly I suspect it depends on the 5.56.

Mine has been eating what I feed it, including 5.56.

I’ve always put 5.56 through my .223 guns. I only had problems with popped primers on one platform.

Have you tried any of the 10-round pistol mags? Crossmag, LAR-15 etc?

Is the barrel threaded on this version? I noticed the front sight is further back than the wood version, and the pic makes it look like there’s some kind of texture ahead of the sight, but maybe I’m just seeing things.

The manufacturer of the Alcor says no, so I suspect if you shoot 556 you will void any warranty. Bats888 killed his first Alcor in review because he shot 556 in it. Chimera manufacture has confirmed the Chimera WAS manufactured for 556 and shooting it is permitted.

With Alcor - how is your experience with taking it apart/ cleaning if you don't mind me asking.
