Hey Guys

I just wanted people to know that I went to Al Flaherty's in Toronto to buy hollow points, I purchased hornady "critical Defense" hollow points in 45, the price I paid was 21.99 Canadian wow, If you google this ammo it is selling for $24.99 US. While i was there I also picke dup 9mm hollow point. Bottom line is that it's great to see that there are dealers who bring in great products at a great price. have to save some more cash to go back and buy some more

No, he's right - this has NOTHING to do with politics. HP handgun ammo is legal everywhere in Canada - there's nothing special about being able to buy it in Moronto other than the fact that some retailers might be too chickensh*t to carry it.

Also, was the $21.99 price for a box of 25, or 50? Some of the Winchester and Remington HP's come in 25's - so if you're going to do a price plug for Al's (which is cool, since he's a forum sponsor!) then you might want to let people know if it's $21.99/25 or $21.99/50. :)

Hey Carmovies you are paying alot. I paid 21.99 for a brand NEW box of 20, 45 ACP 185gr Hornady FTX critical defense the suggested retail price on the Hornady website is $26.19 US. That is why I opened this thread, I think it is a great deal. I do not have anything to do with the shop just one happy customer:dancingbanana:
 
Just got back from Al's

I got some of the 9mm 147Gr XTP. Thats 25 rounds for $17.99. This it not the Critical Defense, from the Custom line.
Picked up a box of the 357MAG 158Gr XTP. 25 rounds for 21.99. From the Custom line also...
Picked up the last 5 boxes of the 45ACP 185Gr FTX. Thats 20 rounds for $21.99.... this stuff is the Critical Defense with the snazzy jazz bullet.

They also had the bulk packs of the Win 45ACP 230Gr 100 pack for $49 IIRC and the 9MM 100 pack was like $35 something I think.... not sure. I just bought this stuff to add to my JHP collection, I shoot my reloads :)
 
Man... at P&D in Edmonton I get Hydra-Shoks (50/box) for $32 or so IIRC. Maybe $36 now, at the most?

All I know is that I'm glad I handload for my .45 ACPs... :D

Oh ya they had lots more of the 9MM and 357 from the Custom line. Only Critical Defense stuff was the 45 ACP and AFAIK I got the last 5 boxes. I was gonna leave 1, but that was cruel....
 
I think I'll just stick to buying Federal full metal jacket in 45 and 40, and reload them with whatever I want after I shoot them. I find that the full metal jacket ammo is expensive, but nowhere near what loaded hollow points cost.
