I hope this is the right place to post this...
I ordered a Norinco JW2000 double-barrel from Flaherty's back in January. It arrived within a reasonable period of time, and the price was great. I didn't use it much because of winter. About a month ago I was shooting some 2 3/4" bird and buck shot, and a big chunk of the wooden stock right behind the exposed left trigger broke off. I was really sad because I love that little shotgun!
I called and was advised to send it in under the 12 month warranty. I opted to wait a couple weeks and bring it in myself because me and my lady were going to Toronto for a ROM/Zoo visit anyways (plus a visit to the Cathedral of the Transfiguration in Markham -- the church from "In The Mouth of Madness" with Sam Neil
)
I brought the little guy into Al Flaherty's and handed it off to Dom (I'm pretty sure that is his name) and to a younger guy with glasses. There was no grumbling, no interrogation, no BS (i'm sure this is not news to anyone that goes there) !! They told me that they had a brand new stock at the store and offered to change it for me. I was really happy with the offer! While Dom worked on the stock, the other guy helped us try to figure out exactly what type of ammo my lady's Steyer M95 would take. Talk about great service!!
The new stock is a darker wood/finish with less prominant checkering. It is AWESOME!! YOU GUYS RULE!!
In North Bay, the only hunting/camping/fishing store is:
1. a complete rip-off (tried to charge over $350 for a used norinco outlaw)
2. difficult to get good service
3. has crappy selection for guns and ammo, etc.
4. knows about the above, and doesn't care.
I will readily admit that I don't buy locally. I have no reason to. I ordered the JW2000 from Flaherty's online, and bought a Norinco Grizzly at the Sportsman Show from Dom as well. Flaherty's = KICK ASS!
