Albanian SKS sold on gp for $2,600

So some guy paid 2600 for a a Gypsy SKS with an ugly charging handle to trigger lock and hang in his den? Guess lots of people still have more money than brains. How much is a German worth then, 20,000? Give me a break.

I've only seen one, so....yeah, two grand's OK, hell, $2600 isn't out of touch if you're a die hard collector. Also remember most of them were destroyed under the UN, so it isn't like there'll ever be more.

It is kinda ugly but the price is understandable. I just bought a nice number series one matching Russian for $450 locally. I put it on gp for fun for $700, then took it off, too much interest. Prices are not going down for SKS.

The real question is… did it have a U.S. import marking on it?

I remember an other Albanian on the EE about 9 years ago… it sat for 3 bumps before being sold and I can’t remember the asking price but it $1000-somthing. Wonder if this is the same one.

So poor and so bitter..

Ignorant and poor. Deadly combo. But hey… some people pay $2000 for a Type-81.

From what I read many years ago about the Albanian SKS rifles was there was only 10 Thousand made ? and most were destroyed . from what I remember the steel used in them was a little soft ? so the longevity as in usage wouldn't be as long as a Russian or the other variant's. the gas cover looked a little different more holes in the wood and the most noticeable thing about them would be that they have two trap doors in the butt plate not one storage compartment but two . you would have to really want one to pay that kind of coin or have money to spare or wouldn't care. I know Garand rifles are going for that price and then some.

the Garand's have a lot more workmanship as in more machined parts in them . the SKS is a much easier - simple rifle to disassemble though .
