Alberta barbed wire buck

Nice buck!

We saw a mulie a few years ago that also had barbed wire wrapped around one antler.... it probably happens more often than we think.

Nice Buck for sure. A tip for loading deer by yourself, or any game for that matter. I loaded animals by myself as you did for years until a chronic bad back forced me to smarten up. two 8" 2x2's stuck in the front rail holes on your pickup and $5 dollars worth of chain an a $15 boat winch from princess will load anything you kill in 2 minutes with no strain at all. a couple of 2x8 ramps to go from the tailgate to the ground helps but not a necessity.

all of my hunting is within 5 miles of home so I don't even gut the animal anymore, just load them up full weight , take them home and hang, skin, bone out, dispose of carcass. Sometimes less than 1.5 hrs from hitting the ground to finished butchering.

3 pages in and no long range ethics police yet???? Gotta be a record...

Yes, this is surprising....and not only that, he said he used a Berger bullet. The pics clearly show that it did in fact penetrate deep enough to hit the heart....go figure!! :)

A pretty good shot, but next time try to hit near the top of the heart so you sever the aorta and pulmonary artery instead of wasting that delicious heart meat!

:D :D :D

J/K Well done and congrats!

For us eastern hunters were would his rack rate average, above average, way above average or trophy status. In the east they count the points and if it has eight its a trophy does not mater how big it is. A lot of hunters have never shot or seen a real big buck so there school boys look big to them.Leave the wire as is looks fantastic and perhaps a once in a life time deer!
