I see one on FirearmsCanada.com for ~2000$. That guy has been trying to sell it for at least a year. Same one, pops up over and over again.

Back in the early 90's I saw one that had been made into an IPSC gun: comp barrel, milled for Bomar sights, beavertail, etc. Guess he wasn't into collectibles :p. It was actually pretty hideous.

Hideous!

It does have some bling to it. It isn't my cup of tea but being on Ontario origin and having two kids born in Alberta, I wanted something for them when they grow up.

I bought my boy the Win 94 Alberta Jubilee and I was looking at this for my girl.

Hideous....

Actually, take off the gawdy stocks, put on a nice set of cherry or other cool hardwood double diamonds or even a set of standard checkered Colt stocks with gold medallions & it wouldn't look so unsightly.... ;)

William's Arms in Port Perry, Ontario is selling a special "Alberta" version of the Colt Python that would make a nice companion piece for your 1911.

Yuck, yuck,
as the great philosopher Forrest Gump would say,
"hideous is as hideous does".

If you had happened to attend some of the IPSC Canuckistanni championship shoots around that time, you would have seen more than one such monstrousity. It looked like some memebers of the Alberta team had more money than brains, as more than one of these Hideousities showed up.

Oh well, in my sordid career as a gunsmiter, I IPSCed a few collectibles ... a couple of genuine Colt Ace .22 pistols, a few very tidy pre war Colt commercials,
and more US GI junkers than you could imagine.

If it don't shoot, chrome it ...
