Alberta licence draw question

Or WMU's with multiple seasons for the same species and class of animal, in which case the draw choice refers to the season you're selecting within the WMU, not just the WMU.

Code 999 increases your priority points without being selected for a license. My brother is out of the country for a couple of years, so I'm entering all his draws as 999 so he has higher priority when he gets back.

If he is out of the country for a couple of years doesn't that make him a non- resident and not able to enter the draws as a resident untill he becomes a resident again?

And here's the 2010 draw results.

You can see what priority got drawn in what wmu for each draw species. You can then plan where you can or may get drawn for different wmu's. If you look around, you can search back about 10 years.
I love our draw system. Those who don't aren't doing enough research. All the info you need is there, if you look for it. Should you desire, you can hunt almost every species, every single year.
So get out your reading light, deadline's coming up fast. Don't forget to take into consideration the general, non-draw licence seasons. That info is also in the draw book. :)

My Lady and I alternate using the 999 option so we both don't get our moose draws in the same season. My Father as well as friends did this for the same reason, its better to share a moose every year than to get them all at once and have several years of dry spell.

999 works for all species and keeps you going up the list for what ever reason you may not want to receive a tag in that season.

did you tag numbers drop for antelope this season? is saskatchewan they closed the season because of the hard winter they had last winter. just curious to see if our wildlife departments were on the same page?

The tag numbers will not be set until after the summer survey, but there is supposedly going to be a season in Alberta.

999 works for almost every species, except for Bison and Mountain Goat, where there is no priority system. It's 100% a lottery for those two species every year.
