alberta mule deer rut

Have a tag/draw for muley buck in NE alberta. Area is mostly farmland.

Do they rut the same time as white tails? 2nd week of november?

I thought earlier. I also didn't think it matters that much. I see big bucks all season, not just during the rut.

Yes they rut a bit earlier. Maybe a week or so.

I was wondering the same but if you do some research most of the articles say Mulies rut after whitetails.

I don't think there's any difference in the time that mulies and whitetails rut.

I have watched a herd of mulies outside my window as late as Dec 7th, still rutting.

I usually see them in the peak of the rut during about the 3rd week in November, a little after the peak is over for whitetails...

I have seen most of my dumb mule deer bucks the last week of November.I shot a doe one year up near Wainwright that was with a buck and he almost helped me gut and load her in the truck. He stood maybe 20 feet away the whole time and watched.

I work in southern alberta and see a ton of Elk, antelope and mule deer every day.

I can tell you that right now the rut is early on. Im seeing a buck or two hanging out with the does. Its always a young buck tho. The big boys are still kicking solo as of right now.

Just because you're seeing bucks hanging around does doesn't mean they are rutting... for the last few weeks driving the highway at night, there's pretty much always been a buck standing watching the does feeding... but that's not the rut... either...

Whacked a nice 4x3 this weekend. Not sure if he was in the rut, but he was dumb, and very stinky.

Well folks, I'm not sure where their at in the rut all over but I do know is that where I hunt their still establishing their hierarchy.
On Nov 1, I started my days off for the rifle opener. Day went slow with little activity, but in the dying hours of the day I witnessed 5 mulie bucks work their way out into the field and begin fighting. In the group was a buck that I had been watching for awhile now. I was able to set up and make a good shot
(471 yards), and here what I got!
